B14 Seongsu K-Project

The Seongsu K-Project is a mixed-use development designed through an international competition by the Pritzker Prize winner David Chipperfield in collaboration with Samoo Architects & Engineers.

Reflecting the unique character of Seongsu―once an industrial district and now a vibrant mix of culture and commerce―the project proposes a flexible architectural infrastructure embedded in an eclectic urban context. The design consists of five large platforms (hardware) supported by eight cylindrical cores, combined with lightweight structural systems (software), allowing the building to adapt to future changes in programs and modes of working. Rather than imposing a fixed architectural image, the building embraces the dynamic life and activity of Seongsu, establishing a strong identity while functioning as a living urban infrastructure that ensures long-term sustainability and spatial evolution.
