A5 [Paris, Brussels] Frame Media House

Bruther Baukunst
A5 [Paris, Brussels] Frame Media House
Frame Media House unites media, technology, and training spaces. It also embraces sustainability through a low-tech approach, with abundant natural light, an open floor plan, flexible circulation, and exterior technology―a building designed to accommodate the virtuality of a contemporary medium.
As a rational building emphasizing flexibility, the technical equipment and vertical cores are placed along the outer envelope, while technical pipes are embedded in the floor structure. This strategy provides wide open spaces and maximizes usable floor area.
The fully open ground floor serves as an attractive showcase that complements the public realm. Spatial design fosters interaction among users, encouraging potentially rich exchanges.
Each of the four facades responds specifically to its immediate urban context. The south facade, conceived as a large-scale urban billboard, embodies the ambition to project the building’s role in Brussels’ urban and media landscape beyond its site. Made of a steel frame and glass panels, it blurs the boundary between inside and outside, offering openness while fostering collaboration and innovation. The east and west facades, articulated with vertical mullions and shifting glass patterns, reveal the building’s depth and mass, reflecting the operational character of the media industry within. At ground level, the facades connect the building to the surrounding urban fabric.
