Lightwalk is a radical, minimalist line that is deeply integrated into the territory and the ground of the city, in the manner of a powerful land art intervention. This architectural gesture marks the epicentre of a gigantic urban hub, connecting multiple modes of transport: bus, metro, train, car, taxi and bicycle. This great gallery plays a key role in the regeneration of the heart of Seoul, which is choked by density, by linking existing buildings and new constructions. Rooted in the ground, Lightwalk uses a revolutionary optical instrument which, like a Fresnel lens, diffuses beams of natural light through the different strata of the subsoil. Above ground, a planted promenade and a vast central park link the districts while signposting access to the various transport stations.
