Hanwha Galleria stands at a pivotal crossroads in Apgujeong, anchoring a lively Seoul neighbourhood and framing distant views of the Hangang River. Acting as a gateway between Gangnam’s residential and retail zones, it redefines the store’s relationship with its surroundings while supporting the city’s ambition to revitalise the riverbanks.

 

The new development will merge efficient department store planning with a series of distinct, experiential spaces. Two sculptural buildings will rise above a new plaza and subway link. Their rippling, hourglass silhouettes embrace a dynamic public realm, where the narrow necks become light-filled social spaces. At ground level, their crystalline forms glisten with a soft brilliance by day. By night, the facade transforms into a glowing, animated canvas.
