Blue Water

Hyungjin Park
Blue Water

A large puddle discovered by the artist while walking through the city features traces of tire tracks over which weeds grow thick. Blue Water expresses the artist’s perspective on the process by which nature flows back into the occupied land of humans; water seeps into the cracks of their indifference, and weeds begin growing in those cracks.

Artist Hyungjin Park draws to record the scenery she encounters every day. Park received a bachelor's, master's degree, and Ph.D. at Sungshin Women's University Oriental Painting Department. She has held seven solo exhibitions, including 'Other Times Another Time'(Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, Ansan, 2022), 'Crow and Magpie'(Sahngup Gallery, Euljiro, 2022), and 'An Empty Space Sitting Green'(Onground, Seoul, 2019). Park also participated in various group exhibitions, including 'DMZ Exhibition: Check Point'(Camp Greaves, Paju, 2023), 'Contourless'(West Bundle Art Center, Shanghai, 2022), and (Mokpo, 2021), and selected for 'Arko Creative Academy,' 'Seoul Foundation for Art and Culture Arts Support,' 'OCI Art Museum Open Studio,' 'Yangju Art Museum Artist Studio,' ' Seoul Art Space Geumcheon.'
