Ground is a series of two-channel videos made at different sites across Australia. They are multipurpose and multiperspective. Each video is made at a site of architectural thought. They are motivated by a desire to foreground what usually goes unnoticed and underfoot. Garden House is one of these videos. Filmed from opposing sides through a common path, it challenges us to reorient ourselves in relation to what we might consider the world around us, or the world for us. The convention of how architecture is usually communicated has influenced how it is made. The multiple viewpoints resist the way architecture is commonly known, privileging its context over form and its embeddedness within worlds.
