A City for Two is a place for dialogue at the crossroads of national and cultural identity. This is a space for celebrating the differences and similarities between the distant and close cultures of Korea and Japan. It creates an encounter for exchange by providing a platform for mutual appreciation; a territory for celebrating cultural identity as a whole. As part of the exhibition theme, the chosen city is the territory of Dokdo, a small island located between the two countries. The platform’s construction is a unifying gesture for dialogue, referencing an architectural typology that is present in both countries.
