Workscape

Jackilin Hah Bloom
Workscape
Workscape is the predicament of an office design for creative professionals, caught somewhere between the explosion of contemporary coworking spaces and the abandonment of offices due to the COVID-19 crisis. In plan and spatial organization, it sneaks in 6-8 feet distances between workspaces with unwieldy desks that can fold-up as partitions and bookshelves, cloaking pandemic protocol with flexible and functional furniture. The existing open and industrial space it inhabits is envisioned as an interior landscape of undifferentiated surfaces of floor, walls, and furnishing, using plywood as a mono-material. As the project sits idle due to the pandemic, it is represented only as a simulation of a physical model, a digital diorama of sorts.
