FHO There’s little that generates as much consensus among architects as the idea of a profession in crisis. Upon closer inspection, there are as many versions of the architectural crisis as there are practitioners and theorists. But a crisis we all have in common is what happens to all things we keep building? How do we deal with the leftover ghost towns? What does erasing architecture look like and how does it impact us environmentally? Where do buildings go when they die? For us post-COVID-19 architecture is not about being exquisite or graceful; it’s about being generous, meaningful, and endearing. Instead of the master architect starting from a clean state, drawing strong, decisive lines on the masterplan, we start with our slate's messy, a palimpsest that evidently shows traces of past life.
