messina | rivas architecture For a long time, we have been able to build with stone, a material often associated with durability, strength, and weight. It is not by chance that the walls of many cities, castles, religious temples, and monuments of wars are built with it. Disarm to Continue proposes a reflection on the temporality of these architectures. We propose that building with stone can be temporary, fragile, and light. The installation is made of stones that are self-supported, creating voids between them to allow wind, light, and vision to pass through the structure. What could we build if we disarmed our buildings that were made to last? What could we do if the 18km stone wall of the Seoul city wall were disarmed to build accessible, open, democratic buildings?
