MDP Michel Desvigne Paysagiste The Euralens project aims at the revitalization of a wider mining area that has been in crisis for two generations. In the old routes of the mine as landscape, we have brought about a change in the status of these cities and of the neighborhoods in the making. These new public spaces have helped bring about a reversal in perception; what was once considered abandoned has become the place of urban renewal. The same paradox exists at the level of the mining territory. The slag heaps have been transformed into parks with abundant plant life, whether appearing spontaneously or having been purposefully cultivated. Together, seven parks (about 700ha each) are being connected to form an extraordinary chain of parks.
