Anand Sonecha (SEALAB) The installation explores the wall as an architectural and urban device that is a complex mediator between different worlds and between heritage and modernity. We investigate its dualities (interior/exterior, container/contained, exclusion/ inclusion, division/connection) and its nuanced capacity to define a world within itself and establish meaningful elationships with the surroundings. By analyzing different conditions of this element across Ahmedabad, from city to building scale, the installation demonstrates the complexities of the wall, its form, limits, uses, and repercussions on the social sustainability of the city.
