Ring Zero

Franklin Azzi Architecture
Ring Zero
Micro-architecture is an architectural response that is resilient across scales. It is an act of resistance to large housing estates, urban density, climate change, pandemics, housing crisis, and displacement of populations and attempts to provide an answer to these issues. The project does not intend to offer a purely architectural solution but a prospective reflection on the question of the “right” scale, the human scale. Given the example of Greater Beijing aiming to become the largest megalopolis in the world, micro-architecture may be more than ever a manifest act of a curative gesture, a real urban seam to fill a social void and reintroduce the human within the urban space; a micro perspective challenging a macro ideal by reintroducing collective consistency, solidarity, and, above all, a common sense.
