This lecture introduces the background of planning the <Urban Foodshed> project, which is creating a public space for discussing water, food, and air issues, which are the most basic shared materials necessary for human survival, and is composed of restaurants, cafes, and marts available to visitors of the Seoul Biennale.

Hyewon Lee

Hyewon Lee is Professor of Art History at Daejin University. Her curatorial projects include <Water Preppers> at DDP, <Water Line> at I:Project Space in Beijing, Waterscapes: the Politics of Water at Kumho Museum of Art and Water Bodies at SPACES, Chennai. She also curated A Room of His Own: Masculinities in Korea and the Middle East at Art Sonje Center and Up in the Air: From Yeoido to Incheon, an exhibition of various objects and artifacts that South Koreans brought home from their overseas travels from the time of Vietnam War to the first decade of the 21st century.
