Réinventer Paris

The City of Paris, in an unprecedented challenge to architects, urban operators, and investors, launched the Call for Innovative Urban Projects Réinventer Paris. It is the world’s first-of-its kind project that seeks to reimagine and build differently the city of tomorrow. More than 800 teams from 15 different nationalities—consisting of architects, landscape architects, urban planners, engineers as well as start-ups, farmers, anthropologists, artists, philosophers, entrepreneurs, and city residents—have rethought ways to create a project and seek the keys to a new language of urban and architectural design. For a year, twenty- three city sites and properties were proposed to this extensive group in order to express their talent and develop exceptional projects.
Réinventer Paris is committed to the development of 150,000 m2, including more than 1,300 homes and 60,000 m2 of co-working spaces and offices, to building four hotels, three youth hostels, a swimming pool, and to create more than 26,000 m2 of planted area.
